Alice Allen Parker

Alice Allen Parker died on March 7, 2009 at York Convalescent Center at the age of 100. She was born November 4, 1908 in
Hope, Ark. to the late George and Robbie Allen. Alice was the third child of ten and the first daughter to be born. She married F. Kendreth Parker in 1934 who preceded her in death in 1967. She retired from Lees College, Hazard, Kentucky in 1988 and
moved to Virginia to be with her son. She was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. Alice loved to travel and did a lot of traveling with her friends all over the United States. She was loved and admired by everyone she touched and her
energetic spirit will live on.
She is survived by her son, Frank Owen Parker and wife Ann; her daughter, Rosemary Moss; six grandchildren, Melinda Nestor and husband Bob, Lisa Cochran and husband Bryan, John Moss and wife Suzanna,
Allison Gaschen and husband Bob, Valerie Taylor, Katherine Lanier and husband Homer; nine great grandchildren, Allyson and Caleb Moss, Hannah and Nicholas Cochran, Timothy and Caroline Nestor, Collin and Graham Gaschen and Owen Lanier; one sister,
Catherine Lehmann; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services, officiated by Reverend Janice Six, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Welcome Cemetery in Simpson.
