J. Ottis Stephens Sr.

Ottis was a retired Ethyl Corporation employee and owner of ABC Piano Tuning. He was 94, a native of Cottonwood and resident of Baton Rouge. He died 7:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at his residence. Visitation was held at Greenoaks
Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Sunday, March 29, 2009 and Monday March 30, 2009 at First United Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs, 1020 S. Range Ave.
Services were officiated by Pastor Ray Johnson. Interment followed in Greenoaks
Memorial Park. Ottis is survived by his brother, Otto J. Stephens of Deridder; two sons and daughters-in-law, James O. Stephens Jr. and wife Becky of Dallas, Texas and Glynn Stephens Sr. and wife Jean of Morgan City; brother-in-law and wife, John
Smith and wife Margaret of Livingston; four grandsons, Glynn Stephens of New Orleans, Todd Stephens of Dallas, Texas, Dr. J. Anthony Stephens and wife Karen of Baton Rouge, Rodney Stephens and wife Colleen of Covington; and a granddaughter, Denise
Bergeron and husband Percy of Houston, Texas.; seven great grandchildren; four great- great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Smith Stephens; parents, William Glen “Willie” and
Doshie Stephens; a brother, Robert Calvin “R.C.” Stephens and a sister, Lula Mae Burden. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs.
