Funeral services for Barbara K. Brister, 62, of Leesville, will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 8,
2009 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Rev. Chris Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Island Cemetery in Leesville. Friends may visit from noon until 9 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, and Wednesday, April 8 from 8 a.m.
until time of service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brister passed away on Sunday, April 5 at her residence in Leesville. She was a life-long resident of Vernon Parish, graduating from Pickering High School in 1964; she worked for Byrd
Hospital and MA Bell Telephone Company. Barbara loved to travel and spend time with her family and grandkids.
She was preceded in death by husband Johnny Brister, Sr.; parents George and Faye Brogdon; brother Ronald Brogdon; sister
Norma Jean Brogdon; grandson Baron Brister; and great granddaughter Emily McDaniel.
Mrs. Brister is survived by; sons Johnny Brister Jr, and wife Monica of Leesville and Danny Brister of Leesville; daughter Belinda Fondren of
Leesville; sister Sandy Hodnett of Many; grandchildren Cynthia McDaniel, Lezlie Brister, Faith Cryer and Harley Brister; and great grandchildren Eric McDaniel and Brandon McDaniel.
