Funeral Service for Carol Thompson will be held on Friday, April 10, 2009, 2:00 pm at Hixson Funeral
Home of Leesville, La. Minister officiating will be the Rev. Gil Arthur. Burial will be in Pine Island Cemetery, Pickering under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 and
Friday, April 10 beginning at 8 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home.
Carol was a graduate of Pickering High School in 1971. Carol attended Northwestern and graduated from Upper Iowa University at Fort
Polk where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Human Services. She was awarded the Governor’s Award J.A. G Specialist. Her favorite hobby was painting in her spare time.
Carol Thompson, 55, passed from this life on April 8, 2009
at her residence in Leesville. Survivors include her one daughter, Dena Perkins and husband Christopher; three sons, Brady Dowden and wife Angela, Dewey Dowden and wife Colleen and Jerry Vaughn all of Leesville.; three sisters, Nita Bolliot and
husband Pierre’ of France, Kathy Parker and husband Billy of Leesville and Julie Harville of Leesville; six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Gandy Thompson and Rolan Thompson and one brother, Richard Leland
Thompson.
