Ronald Wayne Mitchell, 64, of Leesville passed from this life on April 25, 2009 in Alexandria. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Chapel of Leesville. Visitation will be held Sunday, April
26, 2009 beginning at 2 p.m. until 9p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home and Monday beginning at 8 a.m. until the time of the service. Ministers officiating will be the Revs. Roger Gill, Rickey Kay and Edgar Evans. Interment will be in Cooper Cemetery,
Pickering, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Lynda Jeane Mitchell; daughters, Rhonda Dowden and husband Scott and Kelli LeBato and husband Marc, all of Leesville;
brother Don Mitchell and wife Edie of Leesville; sisters, Bonnie Bledsoe and husband Maurice of Lafayette and Connie Odom and husband Tommy of Union Hill; mother, Lucille Emmons and husband Alton of Leesville; grandchildren, Mitch Dowden and Bailey
and Braden LeBato all of Leesville; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul “Toge” Mitchell.
Ronald was a life resident of Leesville. He was a 1962 graduate of Leesville High School. He was a
Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Air Force. Ronald was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt, fish and go camping. He was a very dedicated family man. His grandchildren who affectionately called him “Pop” were the light of his life.
