Orvan Dixon

Orvan Dixon, 90, passed from this life on July 22, 2009 at his residence in Anacoco.
Survivors include his three sons, Orval Duane Dixon and Prentiss R. Dixon “Poo Bear,” both of Anacoco and John D. Dixon and wife Theresa
of Haughton; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Neil Simmons of Kurthuwood and brother, Clarence Dixon of St. Mary’s Ohio.
He was preceded by his wife Gladys McDonald Dixon.
Orvan was a life resident of Anacoco and graduated from Anacoco High School “Orange” in 1936. He proudly served in the United States Army during WW II. He retired from civil service at Fort Polk and was a member of Good Hope Baptist
Church. He was a member of the Orange Lodge # 319 F&A.M. and an active member of the Anacoco Community. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009, 11 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville with the Rev. Wallace Palmer
officiating.
Burial will be in Holly Grove Cemetery, Anacoco under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Visitation will begin on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the funeral home. Words of comfort may be
