Funeral services for Leonard Sorrells, Jr., 77, of Leesville will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 1,
2009 at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. Gary Sorrells officiating. The burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Friends may visit Saturday,
Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Leonard Sorrells Jr. was born Dec. 24, 1931, to the late Leonard and Gussie Sorrells in Okolona, Ark. On July 21, 2009, at Dubuis Hospital in Alexandria, Leonard answered
the Master’s call to come home.
He was preceded in death by one son, Leonard E. Sorrells; one grandson, Jake Kimbrough; his twin sister, Linnie Norton; and two brothers, Charles Edward Sorrells and Charles William
Sorrells.
He was employed by Chitwood Farm Equipment Company of Osceola, Ark. for more than 20 years. He was a very humble man! To know him was to love him. He will be missed by all.
He was united in marriage for
thirty-one years to Lee Bertha Talley. He leaves to cherish his precious memories four daughters Carolyn Davis (Clyde) of Malone, Fla., Barbara Washington (Henry) of Leesville, Jerrun Sorrells of Atlanta, Ga. and Arbedella Kimbrough of Joiner, Ark.;
three sons Anthony Sorrells of Crestview, Fla., Marvin Sorrells and Steven Sorrells (Telitha) of Largo, Fla.; six sisters Gracie Dixon of Denver, Co., Alma Gary of Rockford, Ill., Bertha Daniels (Willie) of Detroit, Mich., Alice Henry of West
Memphis, Ark., Esther Harris of Kansas City, Mo. and Rae Evelyn Purifoy of West Memphis, Ark.; one brother Johnny Sorrells of Kansas City, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a very special aunt, Irene Scott of Kansas City, Mo.; and a
loving daughter-in-law, Linda Sorrells of Hinesville, Ga.
