Loy K. Low Sr., age 70 of Burkeville, Texas died on Aug. 30 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital. He was born in Burkeville on Sep. 17, 1938 and had lived in the Burkeville area all of his life. He was a U. S. Army veteran and was a
retired Civil Service supervisor with 33 years of service. He was past organizer of the Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department and was its first president. He also was a member and past master of Lodge Number 136 in Burkeville,
Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Low of Burkeville; sons, Loy Kadle Low Jr. and wife, Ka’rin of Newton, Texas, Kevin Shae Low and wife, Wendi of Mauriceville, Texas, Chris Brown and wife, Angela of Livingston, Texas, and Jeff
Strickland and wife, Lynn of Denver, CO; daughter, Ilse Muller-Plock and husband, Ekkehard of Bad Nauheim, Germany; brothers, Burnett Low of Burkeville, Debruel Low of Buna and Joe Walter Low of Vidor; sister, Brenda Gilmore; 18 beloved
grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.
Visitation will begin at 1 pm on Saturday, Sep. 5, at 1 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Burkeville with a memorial service to follow at 3
pm at the church.
