Graveside services with Military Honors for Hullett Earl Sumlin ” Elvis” will be held at the Northwest Veterans Cemetery in Keithville on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 1 p.m.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 5, 2009
in the Chapel of Hixson of Leesville from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Mr. Sumlin, 67 of Simpson passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009 as a result of injuries received in an auto accident. He was a native of Rapides Parish and had lived in the
Simpson area for the past six years. He was a Disabled American Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict and had worked as a pipefitter and a professional chef. Being an entertainer, he was thought of as Houston’s own Elvis
and was a regular performer for the Celler Club in Houston, TX. He also had worked as a police officer in La Porte, TX and was a member of the Masons.
Survivors are his fiancée, Gena Tjepkas of Leesville; daughter, Shelia Webber of
Leesville; two sons, John Derek Sumlin and Troy Dale Sumlin both of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Morgan Sumlin and Brandian River Sumlin; four additional grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Words of comfort may be expressed at www.hixsonfh.com
