Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s
Witnesses in Bunkie for Jerry Wayne Brown. Brown, 53, of Hornbeck died at his home on Sunday, December 6, 2009, after a diligent fight against lung cancer.
Robert Hayes will officiate at the services.
Jerry will
especially be remembered as a loving husband and devoted father. The addition of his only grandson was a great joy to their family. Another special joy was aiding in the building of many Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses in his area. He was a
skilled carpenter and painter all of his life. He enjoyed fishing and traveling, but mostly the encouraging association of all the spiritual brothers and sisters who loved him dearly.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Jan Ross
Brown; a daughter, Penny Leigh and her husband, Chris of Morrow; one grandson, Lucas Leigh, age two; his father, Edgar L. Brown of Plaquemine; his mother, Shirley W. Brown of Morrow; one sister, Betty B. Quibodeaux and her husband Ronald of Lake
Charles; two brothers, Terry T. Brown and his wife Jackie of Baton Rouge, and Tim Brown and his wife Raquel
of Port Allen. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
