Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Bass were at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2010 in Oak Grove Baptist Church, LaCamp with Reverends Shawn Waggner and Scott Henry officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Laurel Hill
Cemetery, LaCamp under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Bass, 83, of LaCamp, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 28, 2010 in Naomi Heights Nursing Home, Alexandria.
Cecil was a World War II Veteran of the
Army Air Corp and retired from Fort Polk in 1988 with over thirty years of service. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and the LaCamp Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a Little League Baseball coach.
He was preceded in death
by six brothers, three sisters and two nephews.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his loving wife of sixty-one years, Lorraine Ray Bass of LaCamp; one son, Larry Bass and his wife, Maria of Glenmora; three daughters,
Margaret Goodwin and her husband, Russell of Hicks, Carolyn Smith and her husband, Blaine of Baton Rouge and Neannie Glass and her husband, Wade of Panama City, Florida; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be
Russell Goodwin, Jason Goodwin, Justin Goodwin, Micah Smith, Joshua Bass, Matthew Bass, Luke Glass and Doug Walters. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Robinson, Dale Busby and David “Bo” Harper.
Friends may call at Oak Grove Baptist
Church on Sunday, May 30, 2010 until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
