Funeral services for Pauline Parker, 84, of Anacoco, will be held at 11
a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Anacoco with Bro. D.R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Leesville under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation was
held Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Parker, the daughter of Joseph Riley and Doshie Bolton Martin, was born on April 28, 1926 in Mora. She passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes in
Lafayette. She met her husband of sixty five years after War World II; he precedes her in death. Mrs. Parker retired as a medical secretary for civil service and also worked for Vernon Parish schools as a secretary for many years. She was a member of
Eastern Star of Anacoco and a member of First Baptist Church of Anacoco. She played piano at churches for many years. She was an awesome cook, loved to sew, garden, had a green thumb, loved flowers, loved traveling and was always willing to try new
things.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon and husband Barry Firestone of Spring, Texas, Deborah and husband Charles Williams of Church Point, and Pamela Andis of Anacoco; sister, O’Dessie and husband Ted Frisch of Shreveport;
eleven grandchildren, Stephanie Andis Heard, Jai Andis Dauzart, Luke Andis, Margaret Andis, James Firestone and wife Jennifer, Weslei Firestone Rice and husband Matt, Daniel Parker Firestone and wife Calha, Erica Williams, Rebecca Williams, Morgan
Williams and Rachel Williams; and eleven great grandchildren.
