Funeral services for Willie F. Simmons, 75, of Anacoco, will be held
Monday, July 19, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville with Rev. Durhl R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery in Anacoco.
Visitation will be held today, Sunday, July 18, from 5–9 p.m. at
Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Simmons, the son of Henly Joseph and Violet McDaniel Simmons, was born December 25, 1934 in McCool, Miss. He passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, in Grace Home Hospice at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in
Alexandria.
Mr. Simmons, a resident of Vernon Parish since 1978, retired from the United States Army and from Civil Service at Fort Polk. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Anacoco. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his son, Phillip Simmons of Anacoco, one daughter, Liza Simmons of Pleasanton, Calif., two brothers, H.J. Simmons and Gene Simmons, two sisters, Agnes Burks and Rose Ann Dory, all of Mississippi, 6 grandchildren and 2
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucia Vouckelatou Simmons.
