Stanley Wayne Cox, 65, passed from this life on Thursday, August 19, 2010
at his residence in Hicks.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010, 2 p.m. at Flactor Baptist Church in Hicks. Ministers will be the Revs. Huey Haymon and Gary Bankson. Burial will be at Flactor Cemetery under the direction
of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville, a Dignity Memorial Provider. His visitation will begin on Sunday, August 22, 2010, 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Flactor Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Carolyn Bankson Cox of Hicks;
daughter, Valerie “Val” Hasic and husband Amer of Woodworth; son, Collin Cox and wife April Chaney Cox of Alexandria; brothers, Eddie Cox of Albany, Ga., Morris Cox of Calif. and Carl Cox of Kilbourne; sisters, Lavonna Schuster of St. Louis, Mo.,
Betty Pippenger of Johnesboro, Ark., Kathy Cleveland of Epps, and two grandchildren, Hailey Elizabeth Hasic and Chloe Savannah Hasic. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Cox and Odie Smothers Cox; son, Jared Wayne Cox and brothers, Coy
Cox and Basil Cox and infant sister, Glendora Cox.
Stanley was a native of Pioneer, and was a graduate of Pioneer High School. He proudly served in the United States Air force for 4 years and later began working for the Louisiana State
Police in 1969 where he started his career at Troop F in Monroe. In 1973 he moved to Troop H in Leesville, where he was promoted to sergeant and served as a member of the tactical unit. He was promoted to lieutenant until his retirement in 1985.
Stanley also served a period of one year in the National Guard. After Stanley retired, he and Carolyn owned J-Bo Trucking Company for several years. Stanley loved to hunt and fish and play his guitar in his spare time. He was a member of Flactor
Baptist Church and was proud to be a member of the Gideons International. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfh.com.
