Funeral services for Pattie Rae Owens, 79, of Slagle, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. Dale Mortensen and Rev. Greg Mortensen officiating. The burial will
follow in the Welcome Cemetery in Simpson. The services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 6 and then 8 a.m. until service in the funeral
home Thursday.
Pattie Rae, the daughter of Clarence and Maudie Bennett Carver, was born on September 6, 1931 in Vernon Parish. She passed away on Tuesday, October 5 at the Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville.
She was a
lifelong resident of Vernon Parish and a homemaker. She was a member of the Walnut Hill United Pentecostal Church, and she was known as “Maw Maw Owens” to many children that she and Glenn helped raise and kept in their home. She was preceded in death
by her parents and her brother Bobby Don Carver.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Glenn Owens of Slagle; children, JoAnn and Louis Wiggins of Slagle, Elaine and John E. Burns of Hicks, Glenda and James Wright of Leesville, Tommy
Lynn and Joyce Owens of Anacoco, Randy and Sandy Owens of Lake Charles, Robert and Brenda Owens of Anacoco and Rodney and Dolly Owens of Slagle; sister, Virginia and Muriel Spillers of Leesville; 21 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren.
