James Howard Hillman

Funeral services for James Howard Hillman, 74, of Simpson, will be held at
5 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Pine Grove Baptist in Mora, with Rev. Dale Mortensen and Rev. Jeremy Blocker officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Mora, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time at the church Thursday, June 23.
Howard, the son of Austin and Lillie Hillman, was born on April 13, 1937, in
Hutton. He graduated from Simpson High School. He served honorably in the US Army during the Berlin Crisis, and retired from the state after 30 years of service, with the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. He was a family man and was respected and
loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed playing and coaching softball. He gained victory over this world and passed into eternity on June 20, 2011, around noon at his home in his recliner exactly where he
wanted to be.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Lillie Hillman; brother, Troy Hillman; and two infant brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Hillman; three daughters, Terri Tweedy, Lisa Thiesen and husband
Gator and Dawn Joseph; one son, Todd Hillman and wife Wendy Hillman; eight grandchildren, Cody Hillman, Casey Tweedy, Michael Tweedy, Brett Thiesen, Shanda Tweedy, Carlie Marze, Tanner Hillman and Trent Thiesen; as well as one dog, Rudy; and a very
special honorary grandson, William Bard. He is also survived by four brothers, Glendon, Dale, Travis and Therman Hillman as well as one sister, Sue Ray, all of Simpson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Glendon Hillman,
Dale Hillman, Travis Hillman, Therman Hillman, James Ray and Frank Pittman.
