Fernando “Fred” Garcia, the son of Carlos and Kella Coronado Garcia, was born on Oct. 6, 1937, in Zapata, Texas. He passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at Rapides Regional Hospital in Alexandria.
Mr. Garcia graduated from
Troy State University with a Masters Degree. He served 30 years in the U.S. Army as a chief warrant officer.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Diane Garcia of Anacoco; children, Norbert Garcia of Alice, Texas, Mark Garcia of Austin,
Texas, Stephen Laidlaw of Leesville, Anthony Laidlaw of Denver, Sandra Janvier of Leesville and Steven Johnson of Leesville; brother, Carlos Garcia of San Antonio, Texas; and sister, Thelma Gaudez of Bremerton, Wash.
