Funeral services for Thomas J. Rachal, 76, of Anacoco, will be held at
11:00 a.m. on Dec. 12 at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Mora Baptist Cemetery in Mora under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 4-10 p.m.
on Dec. 11 at the funeral home.
Thomas, the son of Needom and Millie Rachal, was born on Nov. 11, 1935, in Mora. He passed away on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at St. Francis Nursing Home in Oberlin. Mr. Rachal served in the National Guard. He
worked with Louisiana Pacific as a heavy equipment operator until he retired. He loved to garden, especially raising tomatoes. He also loved listening to music. He loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own.
He was preceded in
death by parents; brothers, William “Shorty” Rachal and James Rachal; and sister, Geraldine McLain.
He is survived by his brother, Dwight Rachal of Anacoco; sisters, Agnes Garsee of Natchitoches and Madeline Jackson of Ragley; nieces,
Linda Brown, Darlene Causey, Rena Lewis, Stephanie Post, Deanna Yancy and Belinda Breaux; and nephews, Royce Garsee, Harry Garsee, Charles Garsee and James Harvey Garsee.
