Wilbert Mack Cavel

Wilbert Mack Cavel, 72, of Leesville, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 5,
2011.
He was born in Kilgore, Texas on the March 13, 1939, to Thomas Cavel and Murda Spencer Cavel.
Mr. Cavel enjoyed his military career and retired as a CW4. He received the following honors: NDSM, GCMDL (3rd awd), VSM, RVNCM,
BSM (40LC), MUGC, RVNCG Unit Awd (2nd awd), ARCOM (20LC), AFRM and MECH BAD.
Mr. Cavel has lived in Vernon Parish for the past 34 years. He was a Mason, York rite, Shriner and Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Thomas Cavel and Murda Spencer Cavel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Cavel of Leesville; sons, Michael Cavel and wife Amy of Shreveport, Richard Cavel of Beaumont, Texas, David Cavel and wife Annette of Lawton, Okla. and
Bob McGraw of Leesville; daughters, Kathy McKelvey and husband Kirk of Arkansas, Christine Moreland of Brandon, Miss., Corinna Butler
and husband Brian of Brandon, Miss. and Cindy Foster and husband Marcus of Lacey, Wash.; brother, Tommy
Cavel and wife Susan of Scott; sisters, Mary Jo Johnson and husband Randy of Quinnland,Texas, Becky Ramour and husband Kenneth of Hathaway, and Fannie Darbone of Eunice; and 14 grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Dec. 10 at
Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville. Services were held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 11 at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville. The pallbearers were Richard, Tommy, Michael, Robert and Mateo. Burial was in Pinehill Cemetery in Leesville and was under the direction of
Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.
