Darnell R. Butler

Funeral services for Darnell R. Butler, 54, will be held at 2 p.m. on June
9 at New Willow Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on June 8 at the funeral home.
Darnell
was born on Feb. 29, 1958, to the late Milton C. Butler and Carrie D. Maxie. He departed this life on May 27, 2012, in Charleston, W.V., where he resided for the past 25 years.
Darnell was an active member and deacon of the Vine Yard Love
Ministries V.H.C. under the leadership of Pastor Audrey Powell of Charleston, W.V. He accepted Christ in his life at an early age. He graduated from Leesville High School in 1978 and entered the military upon graduation. He served in the U.S. Army
for four years and was honorably discharged. He was a very kind and spirited soul who gave comfort and good advice to whom he met. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Darnell was preceded in death by his father, Milton C.
Butler; mother, Carrie D. (Maxie) Butler and one brother, Larry Ray Butler.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Baleterra (Woodson) Butler; two sons, Todd and Fabian Woodson of Charleston, W.V.; a very loving mother-in-law,
Marletta Lewis of Beaver Creek, Ohio; four sisters-in-law; six brothers, Deacon Leon Brooks (ALinda) of Round Rock, Texas, Milton C. Butler, Jr. of Phoenix, Deacon Frankie Butler (Angela), Deacon Michael Butler (Sherry) of Panama City, Fla., Clifton
Butler of Ionia, Mich. and Cedrick Butler of Leesville; eight sisters, Delores Carter of Sanford, Fla., Janice Dixon, Tanye Carney, Shameeka Ensley(Marco) all of Dallas, Elmerlee Taylor (Rev. Bruce Taylor) of Panama City, Fla., Shonta Perry (Larry)
of Raleigh, N.C., Genevieve Butler and Katina Hicks of Leesville; 35 nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
