Tossye Lee Eaves

Tossye Lee Eaves, 87, of Merryville went to meet her Lord on Sept. 22,
2012. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Sept. 26 at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Her Homegoing service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 27 at First Baptist Church in Merryville. Pastor Wayne Squyres and Rev. Darrell Davis will
officiate. Burial will follow in Cannon Cemetery in Merryville.
Mrs. Eaves was a strong lady with kind eyes. She prayed and gave so much love to so many people. Much strength came from her knowledge and respect that she poured into our
lives. She built a bridge of faith between her life and ours. She has taught us to face a real world, remembering to be strong and gentle. Her service to God and Life were a great example.
Mrs. Eaves taught grammar school in Merryville and
Evans for 45 years. She was also the Mayor of Merryville for several years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, David Edsel Eaves, Jr. and wife Winnie of Merryville; sister, Sue Brandenburg of Puyallup, Wash.;
grandchildren, Kristi Goodknight and husband Michael of Hawaii, Chad Edsel Eaves of Merryville, Titus Tidwell of Topsie, and Owena Wing and husband Eddie of Moss Bluff; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Sarah, and Kinsley Goodknight, Jason and Tony
Tidwell, and Gabriel and Gracey Wing. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Edsel Eaves Sr.; parents Bill and Betty Hewitt; brother, Bill Hewitt Jr. and sister, Blanche Monk.
