George Alton Hill

Funeral services will be held for George Alton Hill, 87, of Pitkin, at
Simmons Mill Pentecostal Church in Pitkin at 2 p.m. on Nov. 18 with Revs. Clyde Dowden and Reverend L. E. Robertson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Fort Polk Honor Guard. Committal services will follow in the Blue Branch Cemetery
in Pitkin under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale.
Mr. Hill, a World War II veteran and recipient of several Purple Hearts, died at 12:25 a.m. on Nov. 16, 2012 in Grace Home of Alexandria. He retired from Fort Polk as a
painter. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories two sons, James Alton Hill and Thomas David Hill, both of Pitkin; one daughter, Linda
James of Longville; one sister, Emma Lee Robertson of Pitkin; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents,
David and Martha Hill; his wife, Reba Faye Musclewhite Hill; and one brother, Elton Hill.
Pallbearers to serve will be Jason James, Matt Hill, Heath Hill, Dillan Gandy, Michael Lucht, and David Spann.

a.m. on Nov. 17 until the time of services in the church.
