Janis Terrell Copenhaver

Janis Terrell Copenhaver passed away on April 25, 2013 surrounded by her
loving family and friends.
Born April 19, 1930 in Leesville, Janis was a graduate of Louisiana State University, a member of Alpha Delta Pi, taught third grade at Southdown Elementary School, director of the kindergarten at Broadmoor
United Methodist Daycare, then, after raising two children, went back to work as a membership secretary at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, where she was a long-time member.
She was an active member of PEO Chapter AA for over 40
years.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on April 26 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, located at 11000 Florida Blvd. in Baton Rouge.
Visitation will resume from 1-2:30 p.m. on April 27 at Broadmoor United Methodist Church,
located at 10230 Mollylea Drive in Baton Rouge.
Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Janis leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and James Howze of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Carol Copenhaver
Boyle and Michael Scott Boyle of Houston; grandchildren Kelly Copenhaver, Terri Copenhaver Kelley and son-in-law Devin Kelley, Jillian Monroe of Baton Rouge, and Zachary Matar of Houston; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Brooklyn, Kaylee, Liam, Jared,
Alyssa, Jordan and Brian, Jr. of Baton Rouge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl Free and James Claiborne Terrell; husband, Harris Dewitt Copenhaver, Jr.; and beloved son, Terrell Craig Copenhaver.
