Mildred Marie Hunter

Funeral services for Mildred Marie Hunter, 77, of
Anacoco were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20 at Freedom Rest Baptist Church in Anacoco with Rev. Edwin McCullough and Rev. James Kay officiating. Burial followed in the Beech Grove Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of
Leesville.
Visitation was Friday, Dec. 19 at 5 p.m. until the service time Saturday, Dec. 20, all at the church.
Mildred, the daughter of Bernice “TC” Hall and Dorothy Marie Koonce Hall, was born Dec.19, 1936 in Hornbeck. She
passed away at her residence in Anacoco on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014.
Mrs. Hunter was the secretary of Beech Grove Homecoming Committee and a longtime church clerk at Freedom Rest. She worked for Piggly Wiggly for many years. She owned and
operated MILDOL Cleaning Service and worked as a direct service worker for Southwest Louisiana Industrial Center (SLIC). She loved spending time with her family, planting, gardening and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
husband, William “Junior” Hunter; son, Keith Dowden and brother, Jerry Lynn Hall.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Hunter and wife Rose of Alexandria; daughters, Quin Hunter of Anacoco and Lisa Welch and husband Ken of Anacoco; sister,
Lorene “Flash” Hall Carr and boyfriend Lane “Pistol” Belsha of Anacoco; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
