Memorial services honoring the life of Ronald
“Ronnie” Wayne McRae will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27 at East Leesville Baptist Church with Rev. Durhl Ray Davis and Luther Despino officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
Ronnie was born Jan. 10, 1944 in Leesville to F.C.
and Nora Ethene Woodall McRae and passed away peacefully at Rapides Regional Medical Center surrounded by his devoted wife of 40 years and four daughters.
He was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish and a 1962 graduate of Leesville High
School, where he excelled in football. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam as an air traffic controller. He served as used car manager for Alford Motors until his retirement after 36 years.
He was the founder, president and CEO
of the Pig Pen Social Club and a member of the Old Anacoco Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his garden, hunting, being outdoors, loved his farm animals, cooking and being with his friends and family, but most of all, he loved Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, F.C. and Nora Ethene Woodall McRae and his brother, Alan Randall McRae.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alyene McRae of Leesville; daughters, Monica Yarbrough of Belcher, Janice Dixon
of Haughton, Shaunda McRae of Haughton and Kayla McRae of Anacoco; stepson, Bryan Wayne Stephens of Colfax; brothers, Douglas McRae (Georgia) of Leesville, Wallace McRae (Jimmy) of Simpson and Larry Paul McRae (Jody) of Wichita, Kansas; his
grandchildren, Marc, Mitch, Morgan, Christopher, Samantha, Dillon, Micaela, Dalton, Savannah, Brianna, Sierra and Sheridan; and his great-grandchildren, Raylin and Paislee.
