A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs.
Lucille “Lucy” Vivian Slaughter will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015 in the First Baptist Church in Anacoco, La., with Bro. D.R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco under the direction of Labby
Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday in the church.
Lucille Vivian Thomas was born on Oct 6, 1935 in
Fairbanks, Louisiana to Louie and Lula P. Williams Thomas. Her Faith became sight when she entered her eternal home on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 in Anacoco, La.
Mrs. Lucy was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Anacoco where she taught
a ladies Sunday School class for many years, and was very active in Women on Missions. She was a volunteer for the Helping Hands Storefront in Leesville, where she touched many lives and told everyone she met about Jesus. She was a Prayer Warrior who
spent many hours on her knees interceding for her family and church.
Mrs. Lucy loved much, and was loved by many. Although she will be missed, her legacy will continue through her family and the many, many lives she has touched with her
faithfulness to Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Louie and Lula Thomas, and her husband: James “Jim” Slaughter.
She is survived by her children: Robert Samson Bayles of Shreveport, La., Frannion Bayles of
DeRidder, La., Ginger New of DeRidder, La., Gerald Bayles of Beaumont, Tx., Hervey “Bubba” Lindsey of Keatchie, La., Veronica P. Slaughter of Florida, Virginia P. Slaughter of Leesville, La., and Katie Simonelli of Anacoco, La.
She is also
survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
