Funeral services for Jimmie Lewis Puckett will be
held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, 1:00 PM at
New Willow Baptist Church with Reverend Robert M. Eckerle, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow
in the New Leesville Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 10:00 AM- until time of service at New
Willow Baptist Church.
Jimmie Lewis Puckett was born on July 1, 1939, to Hurbert and Caroline Puckett in Leesville,
and passed away at his residence in Leesville on March 24, 2016, at the age of 76.
He was a life-long resident of Vernon Parish. He worked at the Ft. Polk Wastewater Treatment
Plant for many years. He was a licensed
minister through the Methodist faith and was a member
of New Hope Ministries of Leesville. He was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Hurbert
and Caroline Puckett, and brothers: Bobbie,
Billy, and Hurbert Puckett.
He is survived by his daughter: Janilla Davis of Killeen, Texas; a son, Frederick Puckett of Natchitoches; a brother, Melvin Puckett of Leesville; two
sisters Mary Woodard of Beaumont, Texas, and Louisa Puckett Johnson of Leesville; five grandchildren, Anjalicia R. Ufomata, Michael, Brittney, and Kimberly Puckett, and Jenaud Bosworth; and three great-grandchildren, Oghenetega “Tega” and
Oghenetejiri “TJ” Ufomata, and Carter Timmons.
