Thomas James Whitfield, the son of Enoch and Alma
Stauffer Whitfield, was born on June 26, 1940, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. He passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at his residence in Leesville.
Mr. Whitfield retired from the United States Army. Then he worked 20 years as a custodian at NSU
Ft. Polk.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith Whitfield of Leesville; children, Melanie and Ray Hough of Leesville, Thomas and Andi Whitfield of Aumsville, Ore., Julie and Ron Burrell of Leesville and Stacie and Mike Derrick of
Anacoco; grandchildren, Martin, Kevin, Jennifer, Jacob, Ronnie Jr., Jessica, Erica, Madison and Scotlyn and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Labby Memorial
Funeral Home of Leesville.
