Janette Johnson Magallan, of Leesville, passed
away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas from complications after a liver transplant surgery.
Janette, the daughter of Alvin Johnson and Lillie Mae Hodges, was born July 5, 1947 in Evans.
She was an
entrepreneur, homemaker and loving mother whose door was always open for anyone that needed a friend, a place to stay or a home-cooked meal.
Janette was a collector of spoons; no matter where her family traveled she always wanted a
treasure
from far-away destinations. She loved a good game of bingo. But more so, she was a collector of Angels, which we know have welcomed her with open arms and are taking care of her.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband Oscar Magallan; brothers; Sammy Johnson, Travis Johnson, Troy Johnson; sister; Frankie Johnson.
She is survived by four children: Stephanie Bates and her fiancé Venson Cursey; Stephen Bates and his partner Richard Gabaree;
Stanley Bates and his children Blair Bates and Nyah Bates; Jason Wood, his wife Stacy Horne and children Kally Grace and Maddy Caroline; her loving companion Lupe (her puppy); brother Donald Johnson; sisters Suzy Johnson, Judy Semons, Vera Galavis,
and Donna Callahan; in addition to many nieces and nephews and their families.
Services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Marlow Church in Pitkin.
Viewing for friends and family will be at Labby Funeral Home on
Wednesday, September 7 during the day and
