Funeral services for Bonnie Martin, 88, will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Mora on Thursday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Twyman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will
begin on Wednesday, September 7 at 4 p.m. until service Thursday at the church. Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Bonnie, the daughter of John Wesley and Leva Martin Bolton, was born
December 26, 1927 in Mora. She passed away, Monday, September 5 in Alexandria.
She was a long-time member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Mora where she served as pianist for 60 years. Bonnie loved spending time with her family and
cooking for them and she also loved to quilt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, Melvin Martin ,and her son Sherwin Martin.
She is survived by her sons, Darnell and wife Theresia Martin of
Slagle, Dannis and wife Susan Martin of Simpson; daughters, Lannis Martin of Hutton and Natalie and husband Lyndal Brown of Hicks; grandchildren, Mike and wife Rachel Martin, Misti Martin, Jarrod and wife Whitney Martin, Kevin Martin, Kortni and
husband Matthew Henson, and Kade Stephens; Great Grandchildren; Aiden, Mylee, Abby and Anderson.
