Celebrating the Life of US Army CSM (Ret) William
H. Hood, of Leesville, with a Holy Mass at Saint Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Leesville. Will be held 10 am Saturday, April 8, 2017, with Father Kenneth Michiels officiating. Services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home
of Leesville. Friends may call from 9:00 am until service time at the church Saturday.
The Lord came and brought William home on March 30, 2017 at the age of 82 years. He was born in Grenada, MS to the union of Luther and Nannie Hood. He
joined the US Army in February 1953, he was assigned to Germany where he climbed the ranks very quickly. There is where he met the Love of his Life, Marianne.
CSM Hood did three tours in Germany, one in Vietnam and one tour in Korea near
the end of his military career. He and Marianne put their roots down in Leesville in 1963. This is where he wanted to call home. After a very distinguishing career in the military he decided to join the financial services business where he excelled
again, CSM Hood always gave 110% to everything that he did.
Christmas was a special time for him. For over 20 years he would, beginning in October, start to decorate the exterior of his house with thousands of lights. The many hours that
he worked on his “Christmas Light Extravaganza” was his way of sharing the Holiday Spirit to everyone.
CSM Hood so loved his family, his Lord and his Country he will truly be missed by so many. He a longtime member of the Saint Michael

Left to cherish his memory is his precious wife of 63 years Marianne Hood, their sons, Bill Hood, Frank and wife Martha Hood and Glen and wife Shandra Hood all of
Leesville and daughter, Barbara Hood of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchildren; Frankie and wife Denisse Hood, Brittany and husband Dustin Santos and his “Miss America” Megan Keller; and 2 great grandchildren; Lila and Max; his sister, Kathleen McLaughlin of
Grenada, MS; numerous nephews and nieces.
