Everson Funderburk passed away at his home in
Simpson, LA on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the age of 74 with his son Joe by his side.
Everson was born on November 1, 1942. Everson was of Baptist Faith and attended Simpson Baptist Church. Everson was self-employed and he
owned a landscaping and lawn care business. Everson was a veteran and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Everson was a member of the Four Wind Tribe Louisiana Cherokee Confederacy. Everson’s Indian name was Crow Hawk.
Everson is survived by his son, Joe Funderburk of Simpson, LA; three step children, Ruby Thompson, Tanna Biscamp, and Michael Cleveland all of Lacamp, LA; four sisters, Georgia Parker (Leon) of Ball, LA, Patty Henderson (Leonard) of Georgetown,
LA, Violet White of Cloutierville, LA, and Sharon Condit of Velma, OK; three brothers, Dale Funderburk (Margaret) of Simpson, LA, James W. Guillotte of Georgetown, LA, and Edwin (Butch) Funderburk of Leesville, LA; stepfather, James H. Guillotte of
Georgetown, LA; two grandchildren, Everson George Funderburk and Irene Louise Funderburk; ten step grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Everson is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Walter Funderburk; his mother,
Macie Johnson Guillotte; his father George Everson Funderburk; maternal grandparents, Ezra Johnson and Wordley Johnson; paternal grandparents, Jessie L. Funderburk and Lillie Edwards Funderburk.
Everson will forever be
remembered by his kind and quiet nature and his love for his family. Everson’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, at 4:00 p.m. at Pine Island Cemetery in Simpson, LA with Pastor Bob Schlemmer officiating.
