December 16, 1929 – March 10, 2018
Funeral services for Mr. Hunter will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Good Hope Baptist Church with Reverends Huey Haymon and Joe Wellman
officiating. Burial will follow in the Beach Grove Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church on Thursday, March 15, 2018.

Hunter of Anacoco, LA passed away on March 10, 2018, in DeRidder, LA at the age of 88. He was a life-long resident of Vernon Parish. He was a faithful servant of our Lord and Savior. He served as Song Director at Freedom Rest Baptist Church. He was
also an active member of Good Hope Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Civil Service at Fort Polk. He later worked as a school bus driver for the Anacoco School District
and at the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of the Board of Directors for Farm Bureau and a member of the Vernon Parish Cattlemen’s Association.

He loved working with cattle, bailing hay, and helping anyone
who needed it. He will be missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son Michael Hunter; parents, Albert Lee and Mary Hunter; his sisters, Marjorie Shaver, Dorothy Moore, Christine Carlton, and Sue Steward;
and his brothers, Odell and Don Hunter.
A.L. is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Idell Haymon Hunter of Anacoco; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and C.J. Wilson of Carthage, TX and Donna and Brian Pemble of Omaha,
NE; four grandchildren, Kim and Tony Sheffield of Carthage, TX; Jason Wilson of West Hollywood, CA; Emily Pemble of Omaha, NE; and Miranda Pemble of Texarkana, TX; three great granddaughters, Caroline and Natalie Sheffield and Talia Garcia; his
sister Patsy and Gene Bennett of TN; and brother, W.J. Hunter of TX; two sisters-in-law, Fay Littleton and Ruby Thornton; and brothers-in-law, Hubert and Joy Haymon and Paul and Jean Steward; a very special niece, Linda Brister; a host of nephews and
nieces; and two very special friends, Ed Bryant and Karen Moore.

Pallbearers will be Ed Bryant, Larry Littleton, Ricky Littleton, Jeff Littleton, Jody Littleton, and Phillip Bennett.
Honorary pallbearers will be
Jason Wilson, Tony Sheffield, Tinker Hillman, Coy Dell Jackson, and Delmon Haymon.
