Rita Louise Lewis-Teet was born on June 16, 1953 in Kansas City, KS and passed away on December 1, 2018 after briefly moving from Leesville, LA to San Antonio, TX.
She leaves behind family and friends that will
forever miss her deeply. Rita is preceded in death by both her Father, Earl Clinton Lewis and her Mother, Marcia Charlene Lewis. She leaves behind 3 children, Michael Blinderman, Tonya Hollister and Jennifer Blinderman, two siblings, Earl W. Lewis
and Thelma Lewis, one nephew David Glatt and one great niece Brittany Shapiro.
Before moving to San Antonio, Rita spent the past 10 (estimate) years as a caregiver in the Elmer and Leesville areas. She had a profound bond with the people
she cared for and often spoke of them as family.
Through our cousin Linda Walker, Rita found a home with in the Hineston Tabernacle. Her faith was strong and she felt the love the church has for all its community. She often
spoke of the strength the church and its members gave her in her life. I know that she is in heaven with her Lord.
Her favorite hobby was always traveling. She had a wonderful sense of adventure and was ready for the next trip
as soon as she got home. Rita never met a stranger, at home or away. She had the gift the strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. These conversations will be missed.
The family would like to thank all the doctors,
nurses and caregivers of Christus St. Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Byrd Hospital and (white oaks) convalescent facility in Leesville. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Hineston Tabernacle.
