Evans garners first win; Simpson tops Monterey

EVANS – The Evans Eagles had four players score in double figures on Tuesday night in an 81-55 victory over the Johnson Bayou Rebels.
With the win, Evans moved its record to 1-3 overall.
The Eagles jumped out to a 26-16 lead after one quarter of play and used an 18-15 edge in the second to head into intermission with a 44-31 advantage.
Evans continued to pull away in the second half, using a 21-11 surge in the third period to open up a 23-point cushion, 65-42.
The Eagles cruised to the victory in the fourth, finishing off the Rebels with a 16-13 scoring edge.
Wyatt Austin led Evans with 22 points, while Ryne Kennedy and Zane West finished with 19 and 12 points, respectively. Wyatt Fletcher chipped in with 10.
D.J. Francis poured in 29 points for Johnson Bayou, with Landon Cupit scoring 19 points.

MONTEREY – The Simpson Broncos used a huge fourth-quarter run to defeat the Monterey Wolves on Tuesday, 52-42.
Simpson (2-1) used a 23-14 outburst in the fourth period to secure the win.
Zach Vargas led Simpson with 14 points, while Rhett Petre and Preston Miller added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Connor Boyd paced Monterey with 14.

Pitkin Tigers….. 65
PITKIN – A furious rally in the fourth period came up short as the Pitkin Tigers fell to the Hathaway Hornets on Tuesday, 71-65.
Noah Guidry led Hathaway with 23 points, while Ian Augustine notched 14 points. Kayden Lopez chipped in with 11 points.
Jaycee Thompson poured in 21 points in the loss for Pitkin (3-1), while Hayden Lavergne added 20 points.

EBARB – Zach Parrie scored a game-high 30 points to lead the Ebarb Rebels to a 70-50 win over parish rival Negreet on Tuesday.
Nathan Meshell scored 16 points for Ebarb, while Koby Gass led Negreet with 11 points.

ANACOCO – The Anacoco Lady Indians improved to 3-1 on the season with a 49-34 win over the Lacassine Lady Cardinals.
Paige Mayo scored 20 points to lead Anacoco, while Abbie Dowden added 15 in the victory.
Vanessa Duhe led Lacassine with 13 points.
University Academy Lady Lions…..71
Plainview Lady Hornets…70
LECOMPTE – Jordan Senones led four players in double figures as University Academy edged Plainview, 71-70.
Senones had 19 points to lead the way , while Destiney Deville and Kaysha Hurd added 16 and 15 points, respectively. Chaney Hartgrove notched 11 points.
Abigail Pippen paced Plainview with 30 points, while Jordan Thompson and Mackenzie Willis added 10 points each.
