Lady Cats blast Northwood, Lady Pirates top Pickering

Leesville's Mya Wrisper connected on a two-run homer on Monday in the Lady Cats' victory over Northwood-Lena, 30-1.

LENA – The Leesville Lady Cats rebounded from two losses at the Many Tournament on Saturday by hammering the Northwood-Lena Lady Gators on Monday, 30-1.

The Lady Cats scored 10 runs in the first inning and 12 more in the second to open up a 22-0 lead.

Leesville scored eight more runs in the third before allowing the Lady Gators a run in the bottom half. But it wasn't enough as the Cats got the victory.

Shea O'Dell was the winning pitcher for the Lady Cats, while everyone had an opportunity to bat in the contest, led by a two-run homer by Mya Wrisper.

PICKERING – Kassidy Busby outdueled ShaeLa Lawrence on Monday in leading the Hicks Lady Pirates to a 4-1 victory over the Pickering Lady Red Devils in non-district action.

Hicks improved to 12-8 with the victory. 

Busby gave up one run on five hits with six strikeouts. Jayde Wilbanks and Jozlyn Westfall each had two hits and an RBI, while Destiny Hickman had a double.

Lawrence gave up four runs on six hits with seven strikeouts in the loss.
