Warm weather has officially arrived, and while some like it hot, many local residents will be making the most out of their air conditioning units. Air conditioning is an essential in the South, especially in the warmer months.

To meet the rising need for air condition maintenance, installation, and service, Perkins Climate Control has expanded into Beauregard Parish with a satellite office in DeRidder. Their new office is located at 901 Shirley St, and they are ready to get to work. The Greater Beauregard Chamber of Commerce held an official grand opening ceremony at the new office on Tuesday. 

Donald Perkins explained why Perkins Climate Control made the decision to expand into DeRidder. 

"We've done so much work down here through the years, we finally decided to take the leap and become a part of this community," Perkins said. 

There were many in attendance at the grand opening ceremony and Perkins expressed how much it meant to him to be embraced by the community. 

"I did not expect this big of a turnout," Perkins said. "It definitely means a lot."

Perkins Climate Control has been meeting the cooling and heating needs of its many customers since 1998. They provide service, maintenance, and installation. They work seven days a week, and provide person to person customer service. Donald Perkins emphasized the need for quality maintenance and care for air conditioning units as Louisiana enters the warmer time of the year.

"You just don't know how important an air condition unit is until you don't have one," Perkins said. "Louisiana can be rough on an air conditioner, that's for sure. If you can keep one running that's a good thing."
