Lady Eagles roll, Eagles hammer Starks

STARKS — The Evans Lady Eagles opened with a little style on Monday, decimating the Starks Lady Panthers, 83-49.
Evans (1-0) jumped out to a 22-9 lead after one quarter of action and put together a 21-10 run in the second period to open up a 43-19 advantage at the intermission.
The Lady Eagles continued to dominate in the third, outscoring Starks (0-1) by 16 points, 27-11. By the end of the frame, Evans was ahead comfortably, 70-30.
From there, Evans cruised to the easy victory.
Riley Haus paced Evans with a game-high 21 points, while teammate Madi Gollihugh contributed 16 points.
Madelyn Nolen and Savannah Hutson reached double figures for Starks with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

After falling behind early, the Evans Eagles had three players score in double figures as they rallied for a 64-40 win Monday over the Starks Panthers.
Evans (1-0) found itself trailing at the end of the first period, 16-11. However, it was short-lived for Starks (0-1) as the Eagles used an 18-7 surge to open up a 29-23 halftime lead.
Both teams scored 11 points in the third period, sending the contest into the fourth period with Evans clinging to a 40-34 cushion.
But it was all Eagles in the fourth as they used a 24-6 run to close out the win.
Wyatt Austin poured in 21 points to lead Evans, while Rocco Evans and Zane West added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Garrett Humphrey led Starks with 13 points, while Chance Guided notched 12 points.
