Rosepine rallies past Sulphur, 63-60

ROSEPINE — When the Rosepine Eagles needed someone to step up their game, Hayden Brister answered the call.
Brister scored 22 of his career-high 33 points in the second half, rallying the Eagles to a huge win over the Class 5A Sulphur Golden Tors on Tuesday night, 63-60.
With the victory, the Eagles improved to 4-6 overall.
Sulphur jumped out to a 15-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, seemingly in control. However, Rosepine came to life in the second period and managed to trim the deficit to 28-25 at the halftime intermission.
The third quarter belonged to the Eagles and Brister. Rosepine outscored the Golden Tors, 21-13, in the frame, opening up a 46-41 lead heading into the final eight minutes of play.
The game remained close the rest of the way, but the Eagles, behind Brister, were able to hold on for the big victory at home.
Joining Brister in double figures was Hunter Hines, who netted 11 points.
Kohl Navarre paced Sulphur with 22 points in the loss.
