The Leesville Lady Cats finished third in the District 3-III standings behind South Beauregard and DeRidder in 2022.
The Lady Cats capped their season with a hard-fought first-round playoff loss to the Lady Dragons, but still managed to have four players named first-team all-district, as chosen by the league’s coaches.
Emily Willis, Ariyah Green, Brianna Troutman and Brooklyn Willis all garnered first-team recognition, while Madison Joiner was an honorable mention selection to the squad.
Green was chosen first-team at forward, while Troutman was selected in the midfield. Emily and Brooklyn – the Sisters Willis – were chosen at defender and goalkeeper, respectively.
South Beauregard, which won its first outright district soccer title in school history, won three of the four special honors as Alexa Midkiff was named the league’s Most Valuable Player, Ashley Graham was chosen as Offensive MVP and Derek Midkiff was selected the Coach of the Year.
DeRidder’s Audrian Cruz was named the Defensive Player of the Year.
Midkiff and Graham were joined on the first-team squad by Allie Habetz and Corinne Newman, while Cruz’s teammates from DeRidder named first team were Kyra Cole, Mia Cole and Autumn Dowd.
