The Leesville Mayor’s Women’s Commission presented their April 2022 Civic Awards for Beautification to Sarah E. Egbert, who lives at 300 South 8th St., and Dowden & Smith, LLC, at 301 South 3rd St.

The commission said while Egbert’s home, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Dr. William E. Reid House, is complimented by the the magnificence of a nearly 175-year-old live oak that spreads over the front
lawn.

Dowden & Smith, LLC, owned by Chuck Dowden and Misty Smith, features a well-manicured lawn that emphasizes the distinctive walkways and steps that lead to the rear parking area, the commission said.
