Leesville landscaping recognized

The Leesville Mayor’s Women’s Commission June 2022 Civic Awards for Beautification went to two Leesville citizens.
Winner of the residential award was Yendubwam and Koffi Soklou at 2065 Columbus Circle. Commission members were won over by the home’s messages of goodwill cut into the grass by means of bas relief along the front and sides yard spaces. The home also features a variety of flower beds containing a large assortment of colorful flowers along the drive and walkway.
The group’s commercial award was presented to Yami’s Salon at 403 North 5th St. The business is housed in a bungalow building complete with a cozy front porch with two rocking chairs. The women’s commission also noted the business’ landscaping that includes flower beds lining the front of the building filled with Sago palms, lantana and several roses highlighting garden art.
