MANY — For the past two seasons, the Many Tigers have reached the Class 2A state championship game.
In 2020, the Tigers captured the state title with a win over Kinder at Turpin Stadium in Natchitoches. Last year, in the return to the Superdome, the Tigers fell just short of winning back-to-back championships.
With the expectations just as high, the Tigers have taken their non-district schedule up a notch this season, playing two Class 5A schools, one Class 4A team and private school juggernaut Newman and 5-star quarterback Arch Manning before embarking on its district campaign.
The Tigers, guided by veteran head coach Jess Curtis, will play three of its first four games at home. Led on the field by 4-star defensive back and USC commit Tackett Curtis, who also plays quarterback, Many will open the season at home against Sam Houston, before taking to the road in Week 2 against DeRidder
After a home game against Class 5A Haughton, Manning and Newman invade Tiger Stadium on Friday, Sept. 23, a game that should draw a huge crowd and tons of media attention.
After a bye week, the Tigers will open district play on the road against Mansfield. Following a road game at Winnfield, Many will close out the season with two of three at home. The Week 8 matchup against Jonesboro-Hodge should be a dandy, along with a Week 9 road game at rival Red River.
Many will close out the regular season at home against the Lakeview Gators.
