The Pickering Red Devils suffered through a winless campaign under the guidance of first-year head coach Jay Underwood.
So the 2022 season will be the chance to right the ship, so to speak, as the Red Devils will be aiming to end their losing streak and turn things around.
The Red Devils will open the season at home on Friday, Sept. 2, against the Elton Indians in O’Banion Stadium, before taking to the road the following Friday for a matchup at East Beauregard.
Pickering will welcome Grand Lake to O’Banion Stadium on Sept. 16, before going on the road again, facing off against the Welsh Greyhounds.
The Red Devils come back home on Sept. 30, for a matchup with Lake Arthur, before opening District 4-2A action in Alexandria against the Menard Eagles.
On Oct. 14, the Red Devils will journey eight miles south to meet up with the Rosepine Eagles in the 23rd annual Battle for the Big Dog Jug, while returning home for a Week 8 district contest against Oakdale.
The Red Devils step out of district on Oct. 28, against the South Beauregard Golden Knights before closing out the district and regular season at home against the vaunted running game of the Avoyelles Mustangs, who reached the state semifinals a season ago.
