A funeral service for Jacqueline B. “Jackie” Jeane will be held at Flactor Baptist Church on Feb. 4, 2023. The address of the church is: 1081 Hicks School Rd., Leesville, LA 71446. A visitation will commence at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The funeral service will be from 1 p.m.to 2 p.m.. The service will be officiated by Pastor Jason Townley (Pastor, Pineridge Baptist Church) and Shane Deaville (Faith Foundation Hospice Chaplain) under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Flactor Cemetery.
Jacqueline B. Jeane was born Jacqueline Betty Barnett in Alderson, W.Va. on Jan. 12, 1927, to Aubrey J. Barnett and Constance Shires Barnett. After finishing high school, she attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and received a Bachelor’s, and a Master’s degree in Sociology. She attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and worked as a church secretary while attending school there. She met her husband of 62 years, Maxwell D. Jeane, while working on her Master’s degree at LSU. They were married at the LSU Baptist Student Union September 1954. She was a mother of four children: Maxwell D. Jeane Jr., Daphne Lynne Jeane, Dawna Linette Jeane, and Kim Warrick Jeane.
While her husband attended Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky., she taught school there. Later, she and her husband moved to Maryland where she became a teacher at Camp Springs Elementary School for 27 years. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell D. Jeane; her parents, Aubrey J. Barnett, Constance Shires Barnett, and Maude Landry Barnett; and her brother, Aubrey Earl Barnett.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Maxwell D. Jeane Jr. and wife Theresa of Pittsford, N.Y., Kim W. Jeane and wife Elena of Belle Chasse, La.; daughters, Daphne Biddle and husband Dennis of Southlake, Texas, and Dawna Pike and husband Stephen of Bettwar, Germany; grandchildren, James Biddle, Stephanie Pike, Michelle Biddle and husband Andrew Feldhaus, Stephen J. Browne-Pike and wife Breanna Browne-Pike, Christina Jeane, and Pavel Glukhikh; and a host of extended family.
Pallbearers will be Maxwell D. Jeane Jr., Kim W. Jeane, John Barnett, Kirk Havard, Will Barnett, Stephen J. Browne-Pike, and Pavel Glukhikh.
