The Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk will host its annual Catfish Derby April 22, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m., in conjunction with Earth Day and Month of the Military Child.

Youth ages 16 and under are invited to try their hand at fishing at the Fort Polk Youth Catfish Pond.

Other events include demonstrations by the Directorate of Public Works’ Environmental and Natural Resources Management Division, the opportunity to see Mario and Luigi (endangered Louisiana Pine Snakes), an appearance by Mrs. CENLA, Brittany Mayo, and win prizes for catching tagged fish.
