The Vernon Parish Library would like to thank everyone who attended the Pilot Club Scrapbook Display Event. We are honored to have been entrusted with these remarkable scrapbooks, which beautifully document the Pilot Club’s involvement both in our community and on an international level. Through photos, documents, and other materials, these records offer a unique window into our shared history.
As with all donations to the Vernon Parish Library Archives, we dedicate time and care to preserving each item. This includes performing minor repairs, wrapping materials in acid-free paper, and storing them in archival folders and boxes—all housed in a humidity- and climate-controlled environment to ensure long-term preservation.
Each item is also cataloged in our system, making it easy to search online. In many cases, we create digital copies and upload them to our Flickr account, so that more people can enjoy and explore them. Our goal is not only to preserve local history, but to make it accessible to as many people as possible.
If you have something connected to Vernon Parish and would like to donate or ever loan it to us so that we may make copies you can reach us by phone at 337-239-2027 or 800-737-2231, by fax at 337-238-0666, or visit us in person at our Main Branch: 1401 Nolan Trace, Leesville.
