The Leesville City Council approved the notice of award of contract to APECK Construction, LLC for the 2025 Street Rehabilitation Project at the Monday meeting.

The city also approved for the city of Leesville to adopt a revised version of municipal airport hangar lease agreement.

The city approved to seek bids to remove concrete from the leisure pool located at the recreation complex.

Councilman at Large Phillip Hunt spoke on how waste management has been having a problem with pickup and hiring people.

“We’re trying to clean up, we really are and we don’t want the citizens to think we don’t see it because we do see it, we’re trying to get it done and it’s not as simple as picking up the phone and it being done,” Hunt said.

“We’re asking you to be patient, we do see it and we do know it’s out there,” Hunt said.

Mayor Rick Allen was absent from the meeting.

The council will meet again on Monday, July 14, at 3 p.m.
