Isaac L. Jeane, 86, passed from this life on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008 in Leesville.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Lee “Babe” Jeane of Leesville; children: Lynn and wife Pat Jeane of Wichita, Kan., Reuben Lavelle
and wife Beverly Jeane of Sikeston, Mo., Artie L. Jeane of Denver, Colo., Iverle and husband Mike Tomblin of Granbury, Texas and Joyce Latiolais of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, Chris Jeane of Austin, Texas, Gretchen Jeane of Edmond, Okla.,
Jeffrey Tomblin of Bentonville, Ark., Jeremiah Jeane of Yellowstone National Park, Wyo., Amanda Jeane of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Jonathan Tomblin of Keller, Texas, Jon-Erik Latiolais, Courtney Latiolais and Victoria Latiolais all of Leesville; one
sister, Alva Squyres of Hicks.
Isaac was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Mathis Jeane, one son, William Leo Jeane, his parents, and two brothers.
He was a lifelong resident of the Leesville/Hicks area. He
was a WW II Veteran having served in the United States Army infantry and was a recipient of the Bronze star. He came back from the war and went to work for the Hixson Funeral Homes and Magnolia Life Insurance Company, serving over 40 years and
retiring as district manager. He was a deacon and music director for over 50 years at Flactor Baptist Church in Hicks and was the president and music director of the South Vernon District Singing Convention. He was also a member of Gideons
International and the Vernon Parish Cattleman’s Association.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 at the Flactor Baptist Church in Hicks with the Rev. Huey Haymon officiating and burial following in the
Flactor Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008 in the Hixson Funeral Home and then from 8:30 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at
the church.
