Funeral services for Stanley James, 81, of Leesville, will be held
Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 3 p.m. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Leesville, with full military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Mr. James was born on March 8, 1928 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at his residence in Leesville. He
retired from the United States Army as a first seregeant; he served in the Korean War and completed two tours in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Stanley was preceded in death by
his wife, Sieglinde (Linda) James; parents William Henry James and Walter and Alice Rivera Thoemmes; two brothers, Billy James and Theodore James and one sister Diane Silva.
He is survived by two sons, Robert and
wife, Kim James of Anacoco and Thomas James of Leesville; one daughter Brenda Spangler of Leesville; one brother, Walter (Junior) Thoemmes of Honolulu, Hawaii; one sister, Linda Pickering of Honolulu, Hawaii; and seven grandchildren, Savannah Demore,
Sarah James, Justin James, Brian Spangler, Jr., Sabrina James, Jordan James and Brandon James.
